Florida SWANA will host its 2024 Winter Conference, “Together Towards Tomorrow”, February 19-21 at the new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

SCS Engineers Project Manager Chris Jimieson is a panelist on the Carton Council’s Green Schools Webinar: Re-imagine, Re-design & Re-cycle: School Waste Collection Systems That Work!, on March 22 (3:00 – 4:00 pm Central).

As schools set their sights on zero waste goals and shift trash to recycling and composting streams, they need an efficient material management system that is sustainable to operate and easy for students and staff to use.  Webinar attendees will hear directly from three different school district leaders about their recent innovations in bin design, construction, and placement, including students who are building their own eating and recycling programs that are conducive to sustainability, including systems to collect valuable items such as milk carton material.

SCS Engineers is hosting our 2023 Solid Waste Seminars on March 10 in Roanoke, Virginia, and on March 17 in Richmond, Virginia.  Registrants have the option of attending the Richmond seminar virtually ($100).

This half-day seminar is designed to provide updates on the latest regulatory, policy, and technological developments in the solid waste, landfill, landfill gas, and sustainable materials management industries.  The sessions are presented by experienced SCS professionals, and continuing education units are available.

This year, our professionals will cover these important topics:

  • Leachate Management & Treatment Strategies
  • Virginia 2023 Regulatory & Legistlative Update
