For approximately 30 years, SCS Tracer – a division of SCS Engineers – has provided management and support for the permitting and monitoring of air quality conditions associated with offshore oil production along California’s Central Coast.
These facilities are currently owned and operated by Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas and Venoco Incorporated. SCS designed and constructed a network of Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) and odor air monitoring stations. The network currently consists of nine air quality, odor monitoring and meteorological monitoring sites. Continuous air quality measurements include O3, NO/NO2/NOx, THC, TRS, H2S and SO2.
SCS also provides technical support for flare-gas monitoring and process line monitoring at both onshore and offshore facilities. SCS authored all of the Monitoring Plans and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans utilized by these projects.
