Houston, Texas – Tom Shuput, Vice President of SCS Engineers (SCS), has been awarded the 2008 Distinguished Individual Achievement Award by the Landfill Gas Technical Division of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). Mr. Shuput received this honor at a luncheon held on March 12, 2008, in Houston, Texas, as part of SWANA’s 31st Annual Landfill Gas (LFG) Symposium.
Mr. Shuput is a long-term, contributing member to SWANA and LFG Technical Division in particular. His participation in SWANA’s LFG Management Division reaches back over 15 years. For the past 10 years, Mr. Shuput has been active as a leader in the Division, serving on the Program Committee before being elected to the Vice Director position, followed by terms as the Director and Past Director. Mr. Shuput continues to serve the Division as the Program Committee Chair. In addition, he has participated as an instructor for SWANA landfill gas training courses, helping promote the educational mission of the association. He is a member SWANA’s Southern California Founding Chapter.
Mr. Shuput joined SCS in 1987 as a business development manager for the SCS, with a focus on its Field Services practice area. He currently serves in a corporate business development capacity. He is well-connected and respected within the landfill gas industry. During Mr. Shuput’s tenure with SCS, he has played a prominent role in establishing the company as one of the preeminent leaders in the landfill gas industry. Mr. Shuput has played a significant role in the company’s growth and success.
