Camp Pendleton, CA – On June 21, 2012, the 7th Annual Camp Pendleton Day event was hosted by the Orange and San Diego County Posts of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). Sharon Bison was presented the SAME Regional Vice President’s Medal for “Outstanding Service to the Society 2007-2012,” at that event.
Ms. Vida Wright, SAME Western Regional Vice President, made the presentation. Ms. Bison has been a SAME member since 2001, and actively involved with the Orange County (California) SAME Post for over 5 years as a member of its Board of Directors. She served as the Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for the 2009-2012 events and as the overall Symposium Chair for the November Federal Business Opportunities Symposium held in Anaheim in 2011 and for the next symposium in November 2012.
The Camp Pendleton event sells out each year, with 70 sponsor/exhibitors and over 550 attendees expected this year. Ms. Bison works closely with event sponsors and exhibitors both before and during the event to coordinate their participation, obtain logos and ads for placement in the event program, and assign booth spaces. Proceeds from these events have resulted in donations of over $100,000 to Wounded Warriors, Armed Forces YMCA, American Cancer Society, and Operation Homefront.
Ms. Bison has been a Business Development Manager at SCS Engineers for the past 10 years and in the environmental industry for 23 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree.
