SACRAMENTO, Calif. – SCS Engineers Vice President and brownfields expert Dan Johnson has been selected to serve on California Association for Local Economic Development’s (CALED) Brownfields Committee.
Created in 1980, CALED is the premier California economic development organization dedicated to building relationships, networks, and resources to increase economic viability and cooperation between public and private sectors statewide to revitalize brownfield sites.
Johnson will apply his environmental expertise to clean up and reinvest in properties, protecting the environment while taking development pressures off greenspaces and working lands. Dan’s knowledge of regulatory policy will help businesses and communities develop environmentally sound solutions and strategies that work well for all parties by incorporating financial, safety and local-level development issues.
“As a CALED Brownfields Committee Member, Johnson will play an important role in helping California communities learn more about brownfields solutions,” said CALED President and CEO Gurbax Sahota. “His experience, knowledge and participation in this committee will be a great addition to the team, and we appreciate his willingness to help.”
