Long Beach, CA – SCS Engineers (SCS) is pleased that David G. Vonasek, PE, has joined the firm as Senior Landfill Gas Design Engineer. He will be based in SCS’s Rancho Cucamonga, California, office.
Mr. Vonasek is a licensed professional engineer with over 28 years of experience in the solid waste industry. With a specialization in landfill gas (LFG) management, he has worked on hundreds of landfills throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. He routinely performs LFG collection and control system (GCCS) development services, including system permitting, design, construction, and operation and maintenance support services for both regulatory control, as well as LFG-to-energy production facilities.
Mr. Vonasek is also familiar with air compliance requirements that pertain to solid waste facilities under the federal Clean Air Act, including federal and state New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), Title V, Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT), and federal Greenhouse Reporting (GHG) requirements. He has also completed numerous special studies related to LFG issues, including gas migration hazard assessments, development of engineered control systems for commercial developments built over or adjacent to former landfills. Mr. Vonasek has had more than 10 years of hands-on field experience performing LFG system construction, operation and monitoring, system performance audits, and facility compliance monitoring. He has provided construction management services, as well as construction quality assurance (CQA) inspection services for several LFG system installations.
Mr. Vonasek earned a BS in Construction Management from California State University, Chico. He is a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and has previously served as President and Board Member of the SWANA Oregon Beaver Chapter.
